The SEED Program

Sensory Exploration, Education & Discovery (SEED) is:
  • A unique sensory movement program to support students who display intensive sensory needs that significantly impact their school functioning and participation
  • A program supervised by licensed Occupational Therapists and/or Physical Therapists
  • A program where participants will have the opportunity to utilize specialized sensory equipment in an intentionally designed space.
To provide children with sensory experiences that prepare the body and brain for learning using a sensory-based, social-emotional curriculum.

A variety of calming activities will be used and the sensory strategies shared can be used throughout the day to improve the ability to control one’s thoughts, emotional responses, actions, and attention levels (Self-regulation). At the end of each session there will be time for families to engage in learning as well, in order to support the home-school connection.
In order to be eligible for the SEED Program, your child must be:
  • Currently enrolled in a New York City Public School (Grades Pre-K - High School)
  • Have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), which dictates Occupational Therapy (OT) services are recommended
